Oak Brook, IL-based CenterPoint Properties Trust owns 7410 N. Lehigh Ave., which the educational science supplies company will use as a warehouse. American Science & Surplus is relocating from Skokie. Equis Corp. vice president Kane Keirnan and associate Marat Safir represented American Science & Surplus while Terry O'Hara of Grubb & Ellis represented CenterPoint Properties Trust.
"Not only were we successful in locating a facility within a three-mile radius of American Science & Surplus' current warehouse, but we also secured them flexibility at a rental rate 15% below market," Keirnan says.
O'Hara and Grubb & Ellis associate Jim Neswold also represented transit bus parts and accessories distributor Mohawk Manufacturing & Supply, owner of the 120,000-sf building at 6700 W. Touhy Ave. The company occupies most of its building, renting out a portion to the scaffolding warehousing and manufacturing that also is relocating from Skokie. GVA Williams represented Designed Equipment Corp.
