Officials reopened the store Monday morning.

"Our staff has worked very hard during this remodel effort, and we're proud ot present a new store layout to our guests," says Brian Przgocki, store director.

There are 165 Meijer stores in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio and Michigan. All the stores have had the same basic layout for years.

This remodel of the 244,000-sf Taylor store, at a cost of $9 million, has brought some new changes.

The changes include a new Pet Connections department, expansion of the photo lab, moving the grocery produce to the front of the store and the addition of an interactive "Video Game Zone" to the toy department. This store is one of the largest in the Meijer chain.

The last Meijer to open in Michigan was the new 193,000-sf store in Madison Heights.
