In Grand Prairie, Transcar, a vehicle shipping service, acquired a 7,800-sf warehouse on about a half acre at 2454 NW Dallas St for $205,000. Seller Commercial Millwork Systems had the property on the market for eight months.

Pete Richardson and Greg Trout, both of Henry S. Miller Commercial in Dallas, represented buyer and seller. Richardson tells GlobeSt.com that Transcar was in the market for several months as a would-be tenant or buyer. The transaction kept Transcar in the Great Southwest Industrial Park as it did the cabinet maker, who moved right around the corner.

The deal facilitated a downsizing for the seller and an expansion for the buyer, who can now store about two dozen vehicles inside the 24-year-old building. Transcar also acquired an abutting 18,000-sf lot for additional parking, Richardson says. Transcar is a private shipper of vehicles and holds a contract to ship for military families.

In neighboring Arlington, Customized Communications bought a 4,500-sf building at 109 W. Randol Mill Rd. from WW Partners. The firm will be relocating from 2020 E. Randol Mill. Theron Bryant of SCM Real Estate in Arlington brokered the terms for the seller while Marcus Finley of Keller Williams Realty represented the buyer.

The North Park Baptist Church secured about 16 acres at the northwest corner of Park Vista Boulevard and Alta Loma Drive in north Fort Worth. A capital campaign has kicked off and architects are being interviewed to design a new church. Jason Miller of Property Advisers Realty Inc. of Irving represented the church, which now is off Rufe Snow Drive. Lester Day of NAI/Stoneleigh Huff Brous McDowell handled talks for the seller, Lazy F. Inc./Quadrant North Tarrant Partners Ltd. The land is zoned multifamily although it had been ranch land, Miller says.
