Redevelopment of the northern Baltimore property includes the addition of 20,000-sf of new office space and 32,000 sf of retail space, and the upgrading of 9,600 sf of market space. In addition to the current tenants, Loyola College will lease a 10,000-sf spot in one of the structures for its speech and hearing therapy classes.

Manekin senior vice president and director of construction Craig Wess says the JV's intention is "to bring new life to Belvedere Square and return it to the thriving complex it once was." And that is the local government's intention, as well. Both the city and state will contribute a total of $4 million to the project in the form of various loans, grants and tax breaks.
