Privately held GMS Realty is a Carlsbad-based investment, management and development firm. It currently owns, manages and leases more than four million sf of retail shopping center space.

The deal follows on the heels of another major retail transaction in San Diego County, as Otay Mesa LLC recently shelled out $14 million for La Mesa Crossroads retail complex. Encompassing 172,500 sf, the property is located at 7900-7968 El Cajon Blvd. in La Mesa. It was 92% occupied at the time of sale, with tenants including Burlington Coat Factory and El Torito Restaurant.
