The new space and will be located in the City Quay area of the development, which will form a link between the commercial and residential elements of Gunwharf Quays. A permanent outdoor events space, to be known as Gunwharf Quays Plaza, will become the heart of the development, surrounded by 16,000 sf of additional designer outlets at ground floor, the 130 bed Express by Holiday Inn hotel and the headquarters office building. The balance of the new retail and restaurant space will be located on the south side of City Quay and will comprise approximately 13,500 sq ft of ground floor retail aimed at speciality and niche operators.

Sarah Royle-Johnson, Head of Retail and Leisure Leasing at Berkeley said: "Since opening in 2001, Gunwharf Quays has been a resounding success with over five million visitors in its first year, and the majority of tenants far out-performing their expectations."

Letting agents are CWM and Lambert Smith Hampton on the retail element, Edgerley Simpson Howe on restaurants and King Sturge on the office building.
