Planet Beach Tan will open doors in 45 days in 1,400 sf. The five-year lease was negotiated by Michelle Caplan and Scott Rose, the Weitzman team that holds the assignment for Atlanta-based owner JDN Realty Corp. Jon Waters of the former Tricor Real Estate Services brokered the terms for the tenant.
Rose tells GlobeSt.com that the center now stands at 85% leased. Jim Pangman of Pangman Real Estate in Dallas acts as JDN's front man for courting and signing the big box anchors to push the projects out of the ground, as he is doing with McKinney Marketplace's second phase, now in the final planning stages before its ground-breaking.
Rose says the pipeline for the first phase, being managed by Cencor Realty Services' Faith Goolsby, has enough in it to fill the center. One tenant, Golf Etc. already has struck a deal to expand from 2,600 sf into 4,000 sf of contiguous space. Within a year, Rose predicts a "no vacancy" sign will be hanging.
