Michael J. Taetz and Robert S. Parsley, both with the Houston office of Colliers International, represented the seller. Taetz tells GlobeSt.com that American Envirotech purchased the property to build a waste incineration facility, but after some time elected not to continue with the project. American Envirotech has owned the property since 1989, according to Harris County tax records. The brokers aren't breaking a confidentiality pact to discuss the selling price, but American Envirotech was asking $1.25 million for the property.

C.A. Rousser of the Rousser Cos. in Houston represented the buyer, Inbesa America. Inbesa owns a nearby single-dock, deep-water facility for steel handling. The Houston-based company said it has yet to settle on a plan for the acreage.
