He held the head franchising post at Holiday Inn Worldwide, a predecessor of Six Continents, from 1988 to 1995.

Separately, the division's London parent plans to separate Six Continents' hotel and retail segments and create two different, publicly traded companies.

Kathryn Holland, corporate media relations director, tells GlobeSt.com the separation would have no effect on the properties or operations of Six Continents Americas.

The separation "would give each segment a more efficient balance sheet, more strategic flexibility and a sharper management focus," Holland says. She says the separate companies would likely both be traded on the London and New York Stock Exchanges.
