The Dallas-based new and used bookstore chain signed a long-termlease in a plan to open the doors in mid-February 2003. The HalfPrice bookstore will close its location in Irving Marketplace at3913 W. Airport Freeway after the 2002 holiday season.

Jeff Harrison, senior vice president of Dallas-based WeitzmanGroup, tells GlobeSt.com that he and assistant vice president ChrisThomas have been working the relocation deal for two years. Thepopular regional retailer kept saying "no," but Harrison said theykept going back. "I learned from Herb (Weitzman) that if youbelieve in the concept and the tenant that you'll go that extramile," Harrison said. Now, the plan is to chase retail neighbors tocomplement the bookstore, such as eclectic coffee shops andbakeries.

The Weitzman team represents the owner, Beltline Airport JV.David Lewis of Dallas-based Lincoln Property Co. bargained for thebookstore chain.
