Hilton, which owns the property in a joint venture with CNL Hospitality Corp., calls the project an "interior refurbishment and enhancement." The hotel is adjacent to the South Coast Plaza shopping center and the Orange County Performing Arts Center, near the Orange County/John Wayne Airport.
The work will include renovations to all guest rooms, and guest room corridors, meeting rooms, public areas, lobby, restaurant and bar. The hotel includes 46,000 sf of meeting and event space in 26 separate rooms.
Beverly Hills-based Hilton develops, owns, manages or franchises 2,000 hotels and resorts under the names Hilton, Doubletree, Embassy Suites, Hampton Inn, Harrison Conference Centers and others. The company employs approximately 78,000 workers worldwide.
