The project, which is slated for completion later this month, entails the construction of five modular buildings. Two of the facilities, which will contain a total of six classrooms, are being built for installation at the Heritage Elementary School campus that is located at 1450 Santa Lucia Rd. Two other buildings, which will comprise a total of four classrooms, are being constructed for the Corky McMillin Elementary School campus, which stands at 21201 Santa Cora Ave. The fifth modular facility, which consists of one classroom, is being fabricated for the Otay Accelerated Elementary School campus, which is located at 1651 Albany Ave.
Modtech and Ecocrete are serving as the building manufacturers and installers, while Gafcon is serving as the construction manager. David Dow, director of construction and facilities maintenance for the Chula Vista Elementary School District, is providing oversight for the project.
