The 330 units sold as of Sept. 30 of this year equals last year's performance but the sales volume of $107 million was up 7%. Home prices average $300,000. The range is $200,000 to $1 million-plus.
Walt Disney World Co., Celebration's creator, projects the city will grow to 12,000 by 2020. The 5,000-acre community opened in June 1996.
Arvida Inc., the residential arm of Jacksonville, FL-based St. Joe Co., has contracted to buy 160 acres in Celebration for an undisclosed price with the plan to create a 600-home community, as GlobeSt.com previously reported. The townhomes, condos and single-family units are expected to be priced from $200,000 to $500,000.
