"This location matches up well with our need to centrally locate a range of our network organization employees, including technicians, construction engineers and customer services reps," explains SBC Ameritech president Carrie Hightman in a statement.
Although terms of the long-term deal were not disclosed, AWE Properties is doing "significant upgrades" to the building and renovate two parking areas to accommodate 500 vehicles by the time SBC Ameritech takes occupancy of the Near West Side facility in the middle of next year.
Andy Gloor, formerly of Insignia/ESG, represented AWE Properties. Cahill got help from Equis Corp. associate vice president George Kotrogiannis as well as associate Joe Zona. In addition, he worked with Joe Buckman of SBC's corporate real estate group.
