It's one of the most ambitious shelter projects ever undertaken in the metro Raleigh area, outside brokers following the project tell GlobeSt.com. One the commercial side, 700,000 sf of office is already occupied. A hotel/conference center and an 18-hole championship golf course are on the drawing boards.

Completion of the residential component is tentatively scheduled for late 2006 or early 2007. Condos are expected to begin at $100,000 for one bedroom units to $400,000-plus for the largest penthouse residences. Townhome opening prices will be in the high $100,000s for the 2,100-sf homes to $300,000-plus for the larger residences.

North Shore will be the first residential project at Centennial Campus, locally called Technopolis because the venture "integrates business, academic research facilities, recreation and exclusive residences," Comstock marketing director Sarah Schar tells GlobeSt.com.

Comstock Homes Inc. is partnering with Craig Davis Properties on the enterprise located on 15 acres along the northern shore of Lake Raleigh. North Shore will have 196 single and double-level loft-style condominiums in seven brick-clad buildings, and 162 three-story and four-story brick townhome residences with rooftop decks and garages.A clubhouse is also planned.

Models will open in early 2003. Among he eight loft condo models will be a single-level, 1,000-sf Plaza home with one bedroom, den and 1 ½ baths. The 2,200-sf, multi-level Greenwich penthouse model offers three bedrooms, den and three baths. Townhome models such as the Alexandria will show 1,800 sf; the Rittenhouse will have 2,500 sf.

Lessard Architectural Group of Vienna, VA is the project architect. General contractors are Comstock Homes Inc. and Signet Construction Co. LLC of Fairfax, VA.
