United Equities' president Buster Freedman tells GlobeSt.com that his team recently signed South Texas Dental to 3,000 sf; Sam's Dollar Store, 4,200 sf and GameStop, 1,700 sf. But, he's holding three letters of intent for up to 4,000 sf at the property situated at the intersection of Parker Road and Avenue K.
Freedman, who acquired the center several months ago, is adjusting the line-up's profile from office/warehouse users to true retail. He says he's confident the balance of the retail space will "fall into place" now that Fiesta Mart has opened its doors in the empty Kroger space.
In another repositioning play for the Plano-Richardson corridor, Tier Development of Dallas recently acquired a 37,000-sf tract, with 3,500-sf building, from Whataburger Inc. of Corpus Christi. The property, located at 722 Spring Valley Rd. in Richardson, is being converted into a Japanese restaurant. The holding's 2002 assessment is $350,010, according to the Dallas Central Appraisal District. Paul Harmon of Henry S. Miller Commercial represented the seller while Jill Tiernon, an independent, handled negotiations for the buyer.
