Soho Café's new 11,700-sf spot will mark its tenth location in the Washington Metropolitan region and it will be its first outlet to provide a dinner buffet in addition to their regular breakfast and lunch options. Subway is taking on nearly 1,400 sf. "The Plaza America Subway will look more like a café than a sandwich shop, with muted lighting and upgraded décor," says Alan Warmund, president of Subway Development Corp. of Washington. "With four huge office buildings and a high level of mealtime traffic, we see Plaza America as a great market for Subway." Retail space at Plaza America leases for about $33 per sf for under 10-year term deals.
