Atlanta planning commissioner Charles Graves, a recent Baltimore, MD transplant, will be the interim ADA chief. His priority assignment is generating developer interest in more affordable homes and neighborhood retail, according to Atlanta chief operating officer Lynette Young.

Philadelphia interviewed 20 national candidates for the development position, according to the city's prepared statement. Hanna's work in helping to develop $200 million worth of commercial and $100 million of shelter projects and revitalizing Underground Atlanta got Philadelphia's attention.

The business graduate received his MBA from the University of North Carolina and is a former vice president of public finance at First Union Capital Markets Corp.

The Atlanta Development Authority, created by former mayor Bill Campbell, is comprised of the Urban Residential Finance Authority, Downtown Development Authority and the Atlanta Economic Renaissance Corp.
