Arlington, Va.-based Mills is the majority owner of the newest mall in the metro area. Local developer Greg Stevinson, whose family has owned the 110-acre site for almost three decades, is a minority owner, but he also kept architectural control.
Mills typically opens its giant malls at the edge of cities and the cities grow around them, Stevinson notes. But Colorado Mills is an nfill development and needs the added touches to make it work, he says.
