In a deal coordinated by the non-profit Genesis LA Economic Growth Corp., the outdoor advertising firm will move to what a Clear Channel spokesman tells GlobeSt.com is a 4-acre land parcel at the 170-acre Boeing development. He says the headquarters facility will include administrative offices as well as operations including fabrication of displays and loading of trucks that haul the displays.

Construction is expected to begin soon on the new headquarters building, which will be at the corner of Harborgate Way and Knox Street. It will accommodate 170 workers and is expected to be completed by July.

Clear Channel Outdoor is a unit of San Antonio, Texas-based Clear Channel Worldwide, which has maintained its L.A. headquarters in Downtown's Pico-Union neighborhood since 1921, according to Greg McGrath, president of the company's western region. He said CEO Genesis LA and its CEO, Marci Wiseman, helped to arrange the deal with Boeing, which is developing the business park at a site that was once occupied by McDonnell Douglas Corp. The 170 acres became part of The Boeing Company portfolio with the acquisition of McDonnell Douglas by Boeing.

Clear Channel has sold its existing headquarters to the Los Angeles Unified School District, which plans to build a high school there. Clear Channel Worldwide owns radio and television stations, outdoor displays and entertainment venues in 64 countries. It operates approximately 770,000 outdoor advertising displays, including billboards, street furniture and transit panels across the world. Boeing Realty Corp. is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Co.
