Jenny Bohuslavsky, a spokesperson for the company, tells GlobeSt.com that each store will be 45,000 sf, which she notes is the "typical" store size. Bohuslavsky points out that the company has opened 67 new stores this fiscal year, which is seven more than it has been opening annually over the past few years.
"We are now filling in markets," she says, pointing out that the company has a presence in most major markets and is also looking to move into the smaller markets. Best Buy recently unveiled a prototype of a smaller 30,000-sf--store, which it will use in second tier markets.
Best Buy currently has over 500 retail stores in 48 states.
