More than 7,000 shoppers a day visited the mixed-use development that currently has 35 stores and restaurants open at the intersection of Stevens Creek and Winchester boulevards. "This was one of the best openings in our history," says Tim Hopkins, CEO of the cooking accessories chain Sur La Table.

Federal Realty Investment Trust, the project's developer, also announced that the development's residential units have also garnered interest. About 42 of the undamaged 225 rental units have been leased.

The nine-building, multiphase project was originally scheduled to open in September, but a recent fired damaged an 87,000 sf of retail space and about half the residential units. The damaged complex remains on schedule to open early next year.
