The company maintains offices in Ireland, France, the UK and Portugal.
Dalton joined GMAC's commercial mortgage corporate arm in 1995 and most recently served as executive vice president of its proprietary lending group, which encompasses the intermediate, construction, asset-backed, hospitality and healthcare lending divisions.
Before that, he was president of Colonial/GMAC Realty Advisors and is also the former executive vice president and chief operating officer of New Brunswick, NJ-based Mortgage and Realty Trust, which has since changed its name to Value Property Trust.
Dalton holds undergraduate degrees from the University College in Dublin, Ireland and an MBA from Columbia University. He is a member of the GMACCH executive committee and will report to David E. Creamer, chairman and CEO of GMACCH.
