The conversion project was carried out by Jeffrey M. Brown Associates, a construction management and general contracting firm with offices in New York and Philadelphia. Among the improvements to the facility is a new parking lot with a capacity of 700 vehicles.
"We completed the project on a very accelerated fast-track schedule," according to Steve Saddlemire, project manager for JMB. "Usually, a building of this size would take about five months to complete. We finished the core and shell construction in three and a half months from start to finish."
Besides the Verizon facility, other JMB projects in New Jersey currently include Mack-Cali's Harborside Financial Center Plaza 10, a 19-story, 600,000-sf office tower in Jersey City, along with the companion Harborside Plaza 4 and 5 buildings. The firm is also building a 260,000-sf customer fulfillment center in Hanover, NJ for Tiffany & Co.
