The project entailed upgrades to the hotel's lobby, atrium, lounge and dining area. In addition, a new color scheme of purple, gray and maroon was incorporated throughout the hotel, and 143 of the 286 guestrooms here were renovated. The newly rehabbed guestrooms feature a 27-inch television set, cherry-wood furnishings, a complete executive work desk, dual data ports, Internet access and Web TV. An additional $2 million in improvements are slated for the hotel's remaining guestrooms in 2003.

In addition to 286 rooms, the Holiday Inn Portland Airport Hotel and Convention Center features more than 37,000 sf of flexible meeting space and a multi-storied garden atrium and water feature. The property is located at 1021 N. E. Grand Ave., eight miles from Portland International Airport and across the street from the Oregon Convention Center.
