Jeff Wentworth, a senior vice president in Phoenix for Grubb & Ellis Co., tells GlobeSt.com that the acreage on the southwest corner of Perimeter and Princess drives was originally slated to be used for the second phase of the adjacent Sonoran Corporate Center, but was sold by owner Robert A Russell after Forest Health Services came in with an offer of more than $3.5 million.
"They had been looking in Scottsdale for about a year and trying to decide on a site," said Wentworth. "They needed a secluded site and with its proximity to doctors and nurses, they thought this would be the best place."
The Ypsilanti, MI firm, which provides treatment for obesity, will construct a 26,000-sf, multi-million office and surgical center on the acreage. The multi-million facility, which will include surgical and recovery rooms along with offices, is scheduled to be completed by the third quarter 2003. Construction of the center will mark the company's first entry into the Phoenix market.
Wentworth and Phil Lovell, also a senior vice president with Grubb & Ellis, represented the buyer in the transaction. Wentworth also negotiated for the seller.
