Over the years, the high-traffic area locale has been a revolving door for hip clothing stores, having most recently served as the home of Australian apparel store Country Road. Zara--which has found a niche by offering new versions of its self-designed and self-manufactured clothing every few weeks--expects to open its doors in the summer of 2003. "Zara is going to change the face of retailing in Georgetown", Madison principal Eric Rubin says. "The organization is focused on street level locations in their penetration of the US market. The location on Wisconsin Ave. of this international retailer will put DC on the map with the international market."
