The project is a joint venture between Columbia, MD-based Rouse Cos., a nationwide mall developer, and USAA, the San Antonio-based insurance, financial services and real estate company. At the intersection of Interstate 10 and Loop 1604, the development is in the heart of rapid residential and retail growth. It's also near tourist attractions such as Sea World and major employers.

Anchors in the single-level outdoor shopping center are Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Dillard's and Foley's. Other tenants are to include restaurants, a food court, a bookstore, a home furnishings store and a gourmet market.

The center is part of a bigger 1,677-acre development at the intersection of Interstate 10 and Loop 1604, one of San Antonio's fastest growing areas. Other parts of the development are the La Cantera Golf Club and Palmer Course at La Cantera, the Six Flags Fiesta Texas theme park and the Westin La Cantera Resort.
