Thomas Anderson, spokesperson for the company, tells GlobeSt.com that the move enables Millipore, which provides technologies, tools and services for the development of therapeutic drugs, to expand its operations. Millipore's Biopharmaceutical Division and Membrane Technology Division will remain at the Bedford campus, and the company will be expanding its research and development laboratories at that campus.

About 260 employees will be working at the new headquarters which is be located in a three-story, 150,000-sf building. Millipore is the primary tenant in the new facility that also serves as the US headquarters for the owner of the building, Getronics, an international technology services and solutions company.

The company did not release its lease rate but according to Spaulding & Slye Colliers International's third quarter market statistics, the average asking rent for the Route 495/North market was $20.01. That number is not likely to climb much higher anytime soon as the availability rate for that market as of the third quarter was 28%.
