Atlantic and Intertech were not scheduled to submit the last remaining proffer payment until Plaza America Towers III and IV reached a certain level of occupancy. Despite the fact that the two office/retail structures are not yet leased at 100% capacity, the property's developers opted to complete the fulfillment of their obligation anyway. "In light of the current budget shortfalls, developer contributions to local transportation improvements are increasingly important," says Fairfax County Supervisor Catherine Hudgins. "We are pleased that the developers of Plaza America decided to fulfill their proffer contributions ahead of schedule, so that the County can make optimum use of these funds."
