Leggett & Platt has taken 219,097 sf at 1140 E. 230th St., where the company says it will be poised for future expansion and will be able to operate more efficiently. A diversified manufacturer that designs and produces a broad variety of engineered components, Leggett K& Platt has 28 business units and more than 300 facilities in 18 countries. Its new facility in Carson will house a unit that manufactures retail furnishings, fixtures and displays and will employ more than 300 workers. The company is relocating this operation from Gardena.
David Denitz of Gateway Business Properties represented Leggett & Platt in the transaction. Watson Land was represented in-house by Kirk Johnson and Lance Ryan. The Watson industrial park is bounded by Wilmington Avenue, Sepulveda Boulevard, Avalon Boulevard and 223rd Street.
