"It is very exciting, especially with the way the economy is going, for people to be talking about this," notes Sarkisian. He points out that the project will involve a major renovation of the entire site, which is currently zoned for retail use. He says that Baker has also proposed facade improvements for abutters to the location as well as landscaping the property. Sarkisian adds that the town is interested in having the developer foot the bill for traffic improvements that will connect Mercer Road to the proposed project.

The center will be located across the street from the Natick Mall, which is undergoing an expansion project that will add 300,000 sf to the 1.6 million-sf mall. Calls to Baker were not returned by deadline.
