The crew is ready to start work on an arched bridge over Waterway Avenue. The Six Pines Drive bridge has already been constructed, but will undergo some modifications.
The six-acre Town Green Park, located near the Waterway, is in the final design stage. The for trolleys and water taxis are being finalized. Water Taxi Inc. of Florida will be the operator of the water taxis, are scheduled to begin operation in the fall.
Later this year, four multifamily developers will kick off work on more than 400 urban residences earmarked for along the Waterway. When the transportation canal is done, it will access about 225,000 sf of retail space and 27 acres of urban residences, the newly opened 345-room Marriott and a 150,000-sf convention center. The largest office building, the 30-story, 800,000-sf Anadarko Tower, is under construction while several smaller ones office buildings are in various stages of completion or done.
