The four-story, atrium-style building is located at 10509 Vista Sorrento Parkway. The tenant roster for the 80%-leased property includes the Safeskin division of Kimberly-Clark, T-Mobile and Presto Communications.

Harsch moved to acquire the property because it "is consistent with the diversification in the portfolio," president Jordan Schnitzer tells GlobeSt.com. Aside from holding the building as an investment, the company also plans to occupy 4,500 sf with its regional headquarters in mid-February. The regional team was working out of temporary space in Del Mar Heights.

Brian Driscoll, Phil Wise and Eric Northbrook, all of Colliers International, acted on behalf of Harsch and seller Mitsui Real Estate Sales in the recent transaction. Sorrento Heights Corporate Center is the fifth property that Harsch has purchased in San Diego since re-entering the market. The other four assets, all industrial, are the 174,413-sf Carroll Canyon Center and 247,000-sf Loma Business Center, both in Miramar; 214,533-sf Cabrillo Commerce Center in Kearny Mesa; and 131,358-sf Poway Industrial Center in Poway.

"We first started buying property in San Diego in the early 1960s so it has been some time," Schnitzer says, adding that the company is "very pleased to have re-entered the market" and plans to continue its expansion here.
