The company says the primary reason for locating here is to build a facility capable of supplying just-in-time seating to the General Motors Corp. Lake Orion assembly site for the commencement of Grand Am production in July 2004.
The facility, to be located in Auburn Business Park just east of M-24 between Brown Road and Paldan, will provide 205 jobs for the localcommunity, company officials claim. The plans on the 7.4 acres include property for a possible 45,000-sf expansion in the future.
The company is building on a former landfill, and has earned brownfield financing. The company also received an eight-year tax incentive package from the city.
The developer is J.A.R. Development Co. of Farmington Hills.
