Gov. Bill Owens will participate in the dedication ceremony.

The "Tramway," at 13th and Arapahoe streets, is home to the Denver Center Theatre Co., the Denver Center Theatre Academy, the National Theatre Conservatory and the National Center for Voice and Speech, the nation's largest performing arts complex outside of New York City.

When completed, the multi-million dollar renovation project, supported in part by major donations, will provide a state-of-the-art dance and movement studio, a design studio, a TV and film studio, rehearsal spaces, educational resources and a new theatre for children's productions.

Construction plans include the addition of a fourth floor to the three-story building. The Jones' donation is the largest individual gift ever made to theDCPA. In addition, one of his online education companies--Jones e-global Library® --has donated $50,000 for the expansion of the NTC Library.

Jones is a member of the board of the DCPA. "The Jones Theatre will serve as a symbol of our abiding appreciation, and that of countless students who will benefit from Glenn's philanthropy," says DCPA chaimran Donald Seawell.

Thirty-five years ago, Jones turned a $400 investment in a nascent cable television industry into one of the 10 largest cable operators in the US: Jones Intercable.

In 1999, he sold the company and has since focused his attention on his lifelong passion to make education universally available, fusing it with technology to serve students worldwide via the Internet. He is currently the Chancellor of Jones International University®, the first fully online, accredited university in America.

"The arts are an important component of the quality of life for Coloradans and a vital part of the education process for our children," Jones says. "I am delighted to be a part of this ambitious reconstruction of the Tramway Building that will help the DCPA to continue its role as a prolific contributor to the cultural fabric of Colorado."
