The resort, a 104-room property on 14 acres, was known in its heyday as a favorite of Hollywood stars and entertainers, including the late cowboy singing star Gene Autry. It had been undergoing renovations for about three months.

Pat Patel, a Tarsadia vice president, says the resort has been "freshened up" with a new lobby decor and some changes to restore its original charm. For example, Tarsadia has removed heavy rugs to reveal the original stone flooring and re-instituted the practice of attendants on bicycles, carrying bright blue trays, delivering room service. Also new is the restaurant La Terrasse.

The resort includes more than 9,500 sf of indoor meeting and banquet space, plus 30,000 sf of outdoor facilities. Entertainer Griffin, who owns the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, had owned the Givenchy property for about four years before selling it last fall.
