On the first site, 5.7 acres in Lostock near Bolton, the company is proposing to build 85 houses and apartments. The scheme forms part of the development of a new training academy for Bolton Wanderers Football Club. Work on Countryside's contribution is expected to start in August 2003 and completion is due in 2005.

Then in Cronton, near Widnes, Countryside is proposing to build 57 houses and apartments on 3.88 acre near the M62 and near a 600-acre Strategic Employment site.

In Chester, the housebuilder plans to construct 20 new and refurbished house on 2.6 acres and in Timperley, South Manchester, Countryside has submitted an application to develop 108 flats 200 yards from a Metrolink station.

The fifth site, 8 acres in Hulme, Manchester, could accommodate 254 houses, townhouses and flats in 12 buildings of 3 and 4 storeys.
