Zara now plans to undertake an extensive refurbishment of the 43,000 sq ft unit at 104-106 Princes Street with the intention of opening in five months time.
The Edinburgh store is the first in Zara's Scottish foray. A second outlet is expected to open in Glasgow's Buchanan Street and the retailer is also looking at sites in Aberdeen, Dundee and Sterling. In England, Zara is due to open at Birmingham's Bull Ring in September and is looking to expand into Brighton, Cardiff and Bristol.
