The decision to stay put by Parsons Energy & Chemicals Group Inc. was good news for Greenway Plaza 5. The six-year tenant passed on an opportunity to build in signing the renewal, Randy Strait, vice president of leasing for Fort Worth-based Crescent Real Estate Equities Co., tells GlobeSt.com. He and Warren Savery, leasing manager, are Crescent's in-house team for the office complex, now 96% leased and quoting a rate of $21 per sf to $22 per sf.

Louis B. Cushman, vice chairman of Cushman & Wakefield of Texas Inc., represented Parsons Energy, a Houston-based engineering and construction company for oil and gas, refining, chemical and petrochemical and power industries.

At Three and Five Greenway Plaza, finish-out is underway on a 50,000-sf expansion by LA-based Occidental Petroleum Corp., which now fills 290,000 sf in long-term leases for the two buildings. Strait says finish-out's been completed on about half of the extra space.

Charles Gordon and Dina Gasper, both with Trione & Gordon ONCOR International in Houston, represented Occidental Petroleum, which has been a Greenway Plaza tenant since the mid-1980s. Occidental Petroleum is ranked as one of the world's largest independent oil and natural gas exploration and production companies.

The newcomer is Burr Wolff, which has signed a long-term lease for 33,490 sf at 3800 Buffalo Speedway. The locally based state and local tax recovery firm is moving from 3355 W. Alabama. Finish-out is underway. Steve Hesse and Drew Morris, another Trione & Gordon team, handled talks for Burr Wolff.
