There was some interesting feedback regarding last week's Perspective concerning the human resources impact of the acquisition. The main question is the one of redundancy. CB Richard Ellis, as the merged company is to be called, expects to save up to $50 million per year by combining the two companies. One of the ways to save money is by eliminating overlapping management. This means one thing…many people are about to lose their jobs. And another group of professionals are--no doubt--seeking or about to seek new options at competing firms or thinking about starting their own.
