The eatery, which has not been named yet, will offer fine dining, according to McLoone, as well as entertainment and catering facilities. The larger Pier Village project will, besides the retail component, include 420 luxury residential units. The retail portion will be configured as a mix of local and regional shops and restaurants in a village setting.
McLoone, a local entertainment fixture, leads a band called Holiday Express, an all-volunteer group of local musicians that perform at various special occasions. For the last several years the group performed on the national telecast of the annual tree lighting in Rockefeller Center.
Also a fixture on the local restaurant scene, McLoone currently operates one other eatery, McLoone's Riverside in nearby Sea Bright, NJ. Since opening in the late 1980s, the Sea Bright establishment has been a local magnet for celebrities, including such local residents as Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi.
