C&W's Don Yahn, who represented the building owner, says the two-story R&D building was built in 1980. Its prior occupant was a geotechnical firm, Bing Yen Associates. Trent Walker of Voit Commercial Brokerage represented the Cheesecake Factory, which signed for five years at a total consideration of $800,000 for the privately owned structure.

Walker tells GlobeSt.com that the design group has moved into the building, which is about 5,000 sf more than it had at its previous Irvine location. The group designs and develops interiors and exteriors for the restaurant chain. The publicly held Cheesecake Factory operates 61 restaurants in 22 states in the US, along with a bakery that produces cheesecakes and other products.
