Steve Schloemer of Colliers Seeley's Anaheim office tells GlobeSt.com that FedEx has been in the building at 18651 Von Karman Ave. for 10 years, operating a drop-off spot for packages as well as a sorting center that loads air cargo containers for shipment from nearby Orange County Airport. He and Pat Remolacio of Colliers Seeley's Anaheim office negotiated terms for the building owner, a Newport Beach-based private individual, while FedEx represented itself in lease negotiations.
Schloemer says FedEx's 10-year lease expired in January, and the shipping firm had been negotiating with the building owner since then for the single-story, 30-year old concrete tilt-up building. The building, which includes 8,000 sf of office area, is in an area that has been built up mainly with office buildings in the years since the industrial facility was constructed.
