The five-year lease is the second expansion signed in two months for the brokerage, which in February opened its second office, a facility at the Victorville Civic Center. Terms of the Von Karman Avenue lease were not disclosed, but the building's asking rate is $2.35 per sf per month.
O'Donnell/Atkins relocated the headquarters from its original office space in the Stonemill Design Center at 2915 Red Hill Ave. in Costa Mesa, where the lease expired concurrently with the move. The Von Karman Avenue space previously was occupied by Trilogy Restaurant.
Partners Mac O'Donnell and Craig Atkins began the firm in 1992. In 2002, O'Donnell/Atkins brokered 105 transactions with an aggregate value of more than $700 million. O'Donnell/Atkins was represented in-house by Randy Teteak, with the building owner, World Trade Partners, represented by John Weiner of CB Richard Ellis Inc.'s Irvine office.
