Dollar General took 7,054 sf in the upscale Highland Village along Justin Road. Tim Donovan with Dallas-based Weitzman Group represented the Tennessee-based retailer, with a penchant for long-term pacts, and Weitzman's Richard Polishuk negotiated for the owner, Jack Arian.

The Dollar Tree brand secured a 7,500-sf spot in Granbury Square along Texas 67 in the historic town of Granbury, known for its specialty shopping, and 10,004 sf in the Shoppes of Weatherford, at the intersection of Interstate 20 and Texas 171 in Weatherford.

Dollar Tree, most often cutting five-year deals, used Jennifer Frank, Greg Rabin and Jim Weir, a Woodmont Co. team, to negotiate its terms. Both stores will open in October, according to Woodmont. Dollar Tree's 2003 expansion plan calls for another 20 stores in Texas. To date, the five-brand discount chain operates more than 2,000 stores in strip centers and malls in 37 states.
