The new Brooks Brothers store in the upscale Rodeo Drive shopping district will become the local flagship store for the clothing chain. Brooks Brothers will move into its 18,500 sf in the fall.
Jay Luchs of the Los Angeles office of Insignia/ESG tells GlobeSt.com that the deal required three parties--Hilfiger, the building owner and Brooks Bros.--to come to terms so that Hilfiger's lease could be canceled and the new tenant could take over the space. Luchs was part of an Insignia/ESG team including Robert A.B. Baraf and Bruce Surry of the New York City office that represented Tommy Hilfiger. Chuck Dembo of Dembo & Associates in Beverly Hills represented Brooks Brothers, with the property owner, a Beverly Hills-based private investor, representing himself.
Luchs calls the Rodeo Drive location "one of the most recognizable and visible storefronts in the world," where many of the most exclusive international retailers maintain shops.
