Greg Bracchi of Staubach Co.'s Dallas office tells GlobeSt.com that the music store is relocating from a retail site near West Oaks Mall to gain some distance between locations in the Houston market. Bracchi, who represents Brook Mays, sat across the bargaining table from Dan Wheat of the Austin office for San Antonio-based Barshop & Oles, in negotiating the pact for the 292,000-sf shopping center at 1220 Fry Rd. The center's owner of record is Fry Road Retail Ltd.
The Dallas-based Brooks Mays has more than 50 locations, where it rents and sells musical instruments plus offers lessons. Its new location will be in a two-year-old center that's anchored by a 75,154-sf H-E-B grocery store and a 86,584-sf Kohl's. Other top-name tenants on the roster include Pier 1 Imports, Office Max and Citifinancial.
