The 168-room property, located on Boylston Street in the Prudential Center complex in the Back Bay, will be part of a development that will consist of two 13-story mixed-housing, hotel and retail buildings connected by a low-rise structure. The project will feature 105 residential units of condominiums and rentals, restaurants and about 53,000 sf of retail space. The project is being tailored to the upscale market.

The city approved development about a year ago, emphasizing that the project met the criteria outlined in the Boylston Street Master Plan, which called for a residential component. The Mandarin Oriental, Boston is expected to open in the spring of 2006.

CWB Boylston is a partnership comprised of Julian Cohen, Stephen Weiner and Robin Brown.
