BOMA Fort Worth, handing out its "Oscars" yesterday, named Summit Office Park at 1200-1300 Summit Ave. as the best mid-rise suburban office park in its district. A Chicago-based limited partnership is the owner; Equity Office Properties' Carmen Snyder is the senior property manager and Erin Heath, property manager. The project is a design of Albert S. Komatsu & Associates of Fort Worth.

The 100,000-sf to 249,999-sf accolade went to the Cash America Building at 1600 W. Seventh St., owned by a Fort Worth-headquartered limited partnership. The building is managed by J. Leo Kinney and designed by Carter Burgess Inc., a Fort Worth favorite son.

At the recent BOMA Dallas awards, Crescent Real Estate Equities Co.'s Waterside Commons in Las Colinas took a TOBY for the suburban low-rise category. Julie Carey is the property manager of the 471,319-sf, six-building complex, designed by Staffelbach Design Associates.

Tollway Plaza I & II, owned by a CarrAmerica affiliate, cornered the suburban office park mid-rise honor. Twin buildings, each 178,000 sf, sit on 10-acre sites at the crossroads of Keller Springs Road and the Dallas North Tollway. The OmniPlan Architects' design is managed by Marilyn Weinberger.

The Plaza at Las Colinas took the renovated building award. Owned by ITW Mortgage and GE Capital, it is managed by Jim Louis of Transwestern Commercial Services. JPJ Architects did the design.

In the under 100,000-sf category, the lone nominee and winner was the Atrium at Northcreek, owned by Granite Partners on behalf of an investment group. Designed by Shepherd & Boyd, the property is managed by Granite's Pamela Sieling.

The Points at Waterview in Richardson took the 100,000-sf to 249,999-sf honor. It is owned by Cousins Properties and managed in-house by Rhonda Dorsey. HKS Inc. was the architect.

The 250,000-sf to 499,999-sf winner was the Sterling Commerce Building in Irving. Owned by Sterling Commerce America Inc., it is managed by Cousins' John Wehmeyer.

The 500,000-sf to 999,999-sf honor was accorded to the Colonnade Dallas in Addison. Equity Office Properties, in a partnership, owns the two-tower project designed by Haldeman Miller Bregman Hamann and Haldeman Powell & Partners. Linda Phillips of Equity Office is the property manager.

Winning the over one million sf was Cityplace Center East, managed by J. Martin Mitchell of Southwest Real Estate Services Inc. Designed by Coussuta & Associates, the owner is Cityplace Center East Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of 7-Eleven Inc.
